McGregor Launch Site
McGregor is just a few miles west of Waco, centrally located within the state and relatively convenient to Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin and Houston. Our McGregor site is “M” capable. Waivers are for 10,000ft AGL, L3 flights are restricted to 8,000 AGL.

We require Level 3 flyers to contact the launch director for details or possible restrictions.

NAR High Power Rocketry Safety Code rules will be in effect at all launches held at this site. A current NAR or TRA card will be required for high power flyers.

Directions to the field:

Go south on IH-35E from Dallas or IH-35W from Fort Worth through Hillsboro (where the two merge) to Waco. IH-35E is under construction south of IH-20. Listen to traffic reports on the radio; an alternate route is Hampton Road between IH-20 and Bear Creek Road

After passing downtown Waco, take Exit 330 (SH-6 and Loop 340) and go west (right) toward Meridian for a few miles

Take the US-84 exit and turn west (left) on US-84 toward McGregor and Woodway

In McGregor, turn south (left) onto SH-317 at the first traffic signal

As you near the edge of town, McGregor High School will be on your right

Turn right (west) onto Bluebonnet Parkway (it runs along the south side of the school grounds)

Follow Bluebonnet Parkway 9/10 mile to Judith Drive (1st left) and turn left (south). Johnson Drive joins Bluebonnet Parkway before Judith Drive; do not take the curve to the right onto Johnson Drive

Turn right (west) onto Case Road (stay on the pavement), then turn left (south) onto McGuffey Road

The launch site is the field on your left. Enter through the gate on the left. Please close the gate behind you
