NASA Classics from Previous Years
In 2005 John Dyer brought out this
Mercury Redstone with the original wooden tower and fins, a nice Gemini Titan,
along with a very nice Little Joe II and a Titan IV
In 2009, John Dyer took 1st in the
60’s/70’s category with his Semroc (Estes clone) Saturn 1B. Ted Mahler also wowed the old timers in the
crowd with his Semi-Scale Saturn V, sitting atop a clear Electro Launch
pad/controller, complete with Eveready photo batteries. It was a good year for the Saturn’s as Bob
Melton won 1st place in the Starship category and Best in Show with this Hot Rockets
Saturn 1B.
In 2010, someone flew this nice
Jupiter-C, but didn’t enter it into the contest. Phil Anderson won the Up Scale category and
Best in Show with this Sirius Rocketry Saturn V..
